
Professor Timothy Olugbenga Nubi was born on July 27th, 1961. He is a Pastor of high repute, Prolific writer, Motivational speaker, Researcher, and a Don in the Academia. Leading researcher into the dynamics of the Lagos Housing Market, preparatory to the preparation of the Lagos Housing Masterplan.
He’s the director, Centre for housing, and the Dean of environmental sciences, Unilag. Professor Nubi’s passion is to find a lasting solution to Nigeria’s housing problems. His wealth of experience in engaging with the government, communities, NGOs and Private Sector Organizations in Nigeria, UK, US and Netherlands has led to well established policy documents and implementation of key projects in housing and urban regeneration in Nigeria.
He possesses Ph.D in Construction Management from the prestigious University of Lagos (2005); Certificate in House Finance Management, University of Pennsylvania, USA (2004); M.Phil. in Construction Management, University of Lagos (2002); M.Sc in Construction Management, UNILAG (1992); B.Sc Degree Honours, Estate Management, UNILAG (1990); and HND in Urban and Regional Planning from Yaba College of Technology (1985).
Timothy ‘Gbenga Nubi is a Professor in the Department of Estate Management, University of Lagos; the Founder/National Coordinator, Ideal Habitat Initiative –an NGO with locations at Ajah, Mowe & Abuja; an Executive Member/South West Coordinator, Real Estate Developers’ Association of Nigeria (REDAN); an Advisory Council Member, Habitat for Humanity Nigeria; a Member, Christian Community Development Association (CCDA) in Chicago, USA and a Senior Pastor, Upper Room Baptist Church, Lagos.
Prior to his confer as Professor, Pastor Nubi worked with the Federal Public Complaints Commission, Abeokuta (1979-1980); Federal Ministry of Works & Housing (1982-1983); Sokoto Urban Development Authority, Sokoto (1985-1986); YABATECH (1987-1994); & University of Lagos (1994 till Date).
He began his Career in then Bendel State where he rose to become Zonal Town Planning Officer in 1985 and worked with the Technical Board of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) in 2006 where he also worked closely with the President, Alhaji Lateef Jakande.
